p63 Antibody / Tumor Protein p63 Antibody

p63 Transcription Factor Function and Epithelial Biology

Tumor protein p63 (TP63), commonly known as p63, is a transcription factor that plays a central role in epithelial development, stem cell maintenance, and squamous cell differentiation. The p63 antibody is widely used to study epithelial lineage and tissue organization, particularly in stratified epithelia where p63 expression is associated with basal cell populations. Its role in regulating epithelial integrity makes it a key target in developmental biology and cancer research.

p63 antibody, also referred to as TP63 antibody or squamous epithelial marker antibody, enables detection of nuclear protein expression in epithelial tissues and tumors. p63 is primarily localized to the nucleus of basal epithelial cells, where it regulates gene expression programs involved in proliferation and differentiation. In epithelial cancers, p63 expression is often evaluated alongside p53 tumor suppressor antibody to better understand tumor biology and differentiation status.

p63 Antibody in Epithelial Differentiation

p63 is essential for the development and maintenance of stratified epithelial tissues. It regulates genes involved in cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation, supporting the formation of organized epithelial layers. p63 antibody enables investigation of these processes in both normal tissue development and disease states.

p63 Antibody in Squamous Cell Biology

p63 is strongly associated with squamous cell differentiation and is widely used as a marker of squamous epithelial cells. Its expression is particularly relevant in studies of squamous cell carcinomas and other epithelial malignancies. p63 antibody supports analysis of these tissues by enabling detection of basal and progenitor cell populations.

p63 Antibody in p53 Family Signaling

As a member of the p53 family of transcription factors, p63 shares structural and functional similarities with p53 and p73. However, p63 exhibits distinct expression patterns and biological roles, particularly in epithelial tissues. This relationship makes p63 antibody useful for studying transcriptional regulation and lineage-specific signaling pathways within this protein family.

p63 Antibody in Tissue Development and Regeneration

p63 is involved in tissue regeneration and wound healing, where it contributes to epithelial cell renewal and repair. p63 antibody enables analysis of these functions by allowing detection of protein expression in regenerating tissues and experimental models.

Due to its importance in epithelial biology and cancer classification, p63 remains a widely used marker for studying tissue development, differentiation, and tumor identity.

Antigen retrieval was performed using Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9) to enhance epitope accessibility. In parallel, protein microarray analysis using a HuProt array containing over 19,000 full-length human proteins demonstrates highly selective binding of clone TP63/4379R to TP63, with a dominant top-ranked signal, high Z-score, and strong separation from non-target proteins.
