p73 is a member of the p53 family of transcription factors and plays a vital role in regulating cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, DNA repair, and neuronal development. Although structurally and functionally related to p53, p73 has distinct regulatory pathways and biological roles. It is activated in response to cellular stress and contributes to tumor suppression, but unlike p53, it is rarely mutated in human cancers.
The p73 protein is encoded by the TP73 gene, which undergoes complex alternative splicing, resulting in multiple isoforms with varying transcriptional activities. Two major classes of isoforms exist: the transactivation-competent TAp73 isoforms that promote apoptosis and the N-terminal truncated ÎNp73 isoforms that can act as dominant-negative inhibitors of both p53 and TAp73. The balance between these isoforms can significantly influence cellular responses to stress and the development of malignancies.
Researchers use a p73 antibody to investigate the expression and function of p73 isoforms in cancer, developmental biology, and neurobiology. A high-quality p73 antibody is essential for detecting specific isoforms in assays such as western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
NSJ Bioreagents offers a p73 antibody that provides high sensitivity and specificity for studying the different roles of p73 isoforms in various experimental contexts. Each p73 antibody in our catalog is validated for multiple applications and is supported by detailed technical data to assist in your research.
Optimal dilution of the p73 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
A synthetic peptide specific to human p73 / TP73 was used as the immunogen for the p73 antibody.
Store the p73 antibody at -20oC.
