ACE2 Antibody / Angiotensin I Converting Enzyme 2 Antibody

ACE2 Antibody Overview

Angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) is a membrane-associated zinc metalloprotease that plays a central role in the renin-angiotensin system by converting angiotensin II into angiotensin-(1-7), thereby regulating vascular tone and inflammatory signaling. ACE2 antibody reagents are widely used to investigate cardiovascular biology, pulmonary function, and epithelial physiology, where precise detection of ACE2 expression is critical for understanding tissue-specific activity and disease mechanisms.

ACE2 antibody, also known as Angiotensin converting enzyme 2 antibody or ACE-2 antibody, is commonly applied to study expression across multiple organ systems. ACE2 is highly expressed in lung alveolar epithelial cells, kidney proximal tubules, intestinal enterocytes, and vascular endothelium, reflecting its role in maintaining barrier function and peptide signaling balance. Its localization to the cell membrane makes it particularly useful for studies focused on receptor activity and extracellular interactions.

ACE2 has gained significant attention as the cellular receptor for SARS-CoV-2, where it mediates viral entry through interaction with the spike protein. ACE2 antibody tools are therefore essential for analyzing tissue susceptibility, viral tropism, and host response. Expression patterns of ACE2 across tissues align with sites of viral infection, supporting its importance in infectious disease research.

ACE2 antibody products support a range of experimental approaches, including protein detection, localization, and expression profiling. These tools enable researchers to evaluate ACE2 function across different biological contexts and model systems.

For tissue-based ACE2 expression analysis and immunohistochemistry applications, see our ACE2 antibody for IHC page.

ACE2 Antibody for IHC

ACE2 antibody reagents used in immunohistochemistry enable visualization of protein localization within formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. This approach is particularly useful for identifying epithelial and endothelial expression patterns and evaluating spatial distribution across organ systems.

ACE2 Antibody for Western Blot

Western blot analysis using ACE2 antibody allows detection of protein expression levels and assessment of molecular weight variation, including potential glycosylation-related shifts commonly observed with ACE2.

ACE2 Antibody for Immunofluorescence

Immunofluorescence applications provide insight into subcellular localization of ACE2, including membrane-associated distribution and potential intracellular trafficking patterns in cultured cells.

ACE2 Antibody for Flow Cytometry

Flow cytometry with ACE2 antibody supports analysis of cell surface expression in defined populations, enabling quantitative evaluation of ACE2-positive cells in mixed samples.

A selection of ACE2 antibody products is shown below to support a range of research applications.
