Zebrafish YAP1 Antibody WB. Western blot analysis of YAP1 expression using anti-YAP1 antibody. YAP1, also known as Yes Associated Protein, is a key effector of the Hippo signaling pathway involved in tissue growth and regeneration. Proteins from zebrafish head and embryo tissue lysates were separated under reducing conditions and transferred to nitrocellulose membranes. Lane 1: zebrafish head tissue lysate. Lane 2: zebrafish embryo tissue lysate. Membranes were incubated with YAP1 antibody (0.5 ug/ml) overnight at 4°C, followed by HRP-conjugated secondary antibody detection and ECL development. A distinct band was detected at approximately 75 kDa in both samples, demonstrating expression of this Yes Associated Protein in zebrafish tissues. The predicted molecular weight of YAP1 is approximately 48 kDa; the slower migration may reflect post-translational modifications or altered electrophoretic mobility that have been reported for YAP1 proteins.

Zebrafish YAP1 Antibody / Yes Associated Protein Antibody recognizes YAP1 (Yes-associated protein 1), a highly conserved transcriptional coactivator and major downstream effector of the Hippo signaling pathway. YAP1 lacks intrinsic DNA-binding activity and functions primarily through interactions with TEAD family transcription factors to regulate genes involved in cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, and tissue growth. Inactivation of Hippo pathway kinases permits nuclear accumulation of YAP1, whereas pathway activation promotes phosphorylation and cytoplasmic retention of the protein.

In zebrafish, yap1 is widely expressed during embryogenesis and is essential for proper organ development and tissue homeostasis. YAP1 signaling contributes to cardiac morphogenesis, liver development, neural differentiation, and maintenance of progenitor cell populations. It also plays an important role in mechanotransduction, allowing cells to respond to changes in extracellular matrix stiffness and physical forces. The high degree of conservation between zebrafish and mammalian YAP1 makes this model particularly useful for investigating Hippo pathway biology.
