Zebrafish Alpha A Crystallin Antibody WB. Western blot analysis of Alpha A Crystallin expression was performed using anti-Alpha A Crystallin (CRYAA) antibody. Lane 1: zebrafish embryo tissue lysate. Alpha A Crystallin (CRYAA) is a major lens structural protein and ATP-independent molecular chaperone that prevents protein aggregation, maintains lens transparency, and protects cells from stress-induced damage during eye development. A specific immunoreactive band is detected at approximately 20 kDa, consistent with the expected molecular weight of CRYAA. The robust expression observed in zebrafish embryos reflects the essential role of Alpha A Crystallin during lens fiber differentiation and ocular morphogenesis. These results demonstrate the utility of Zebrafish Alpha A Crystallin Antibody for studies of eye development, molecular chaperone function, protein homeostasis, and cataract biology.

Description

Zebrafish Alpha A Crystallin Antibody / CRYAA Antibody recognizes Alpha A Crystallin (CRYAA), a major structural protein of the vertebrate eye lens and a member of the small heat shock protein family. Alpha A Crystallin functions as an ATP-independent molecular chaperone that prevents aggregation of partially unfolded proteins, preserving lens transparency and maintaining optical clarity throughout development and adulthood. In zebrafish, CRYAA is abundantly expressed in differentiating lens fiber cells and serves as an important marker of lens development, ocular morphogenesis, and protein homeostasis. The high conservation of CRYAA between zebrafish and mammals makes this model especially valuable for investigating lens biology and visual system development.

Zebrafish Alpha A Crystallin Antibody / CRYAA Antibody is well suited for studies of embryonic eye development and molecular chaperone function. In addition to its structural role within the lens, Alpha A Crystallin protects cells from oxidative stress, protein misfolding, and apoptosis by stabilizing unfolded proteins and maintaining proteostasis. These protective activities are essential for normal lens fiber cell differentiation and long-term transparency, while also contributing to cellular survival during physiological and environmental stress. Zebrafish provide an excellent experimental model for visualizing CRYAA expression because of their externally developing, optically transparent embryos.

Altered CRYAA expression or mutation has been associated with congenital cataracts, age-related cataracts, and other disorders affecting lens transparency. Increasing evidence also suggests that Alpha A Crystallin contributes to retinal protection, neuroprotection, and stress adaptation beyond the lens. Studies in zebrafish continue to improve our understanding of conserved mechanisms governing ocular development, protein quality control, and lens maintenance. Zebrafish Alpha A Crystallin Antibody / CRYAA Antibody is an excellent tool for investigations of developmental biology, ophthalmic research, molecular chaperone activity, protein homeostasis, cataract mechanisms, and vertebrate eye development.
