Description

VHL Antibody is designed for the detection and study of VHL (Von Hippel-Lindau protein), a highly conserved cellular regulator best known for its role in controlling oxygen-sensing pathways and maintaining normal cellular homeostasis. VHL functions as a component of an E3 ubiquitin ligase complex that regulates the stability of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) proteins, thereby helping cells respond appropriately to changes in oxygen availability. Through this activity, VHL serves as a central mediator of hypoxia signaling, metabolic adaptation, and cellular stress responses.

VHL plays an important role in coordinating pathways that influence angiogenesis, energy metabolism, cell survival, and tissue development. By controlling the abundance of HIF transcription factors, VHL helps regulate expression of numerous genes involved in vascular growth, oxygen utilization, and adaptation to environmental conditions. These functions make VHL a key molecular link between oxygen availability and cellular behavior.

In addition to its role in hypoxia signaling, VHL participates in broader cellular processes including protein turnover, extracellular matrix regulation, cytoskeletal organization, and maintenance of tissue architecture. Research has demonstrated that VHL influences both HIF-dependent and HIF-independent pathways, highlighting its importance in multiple aspects of cell biology. As a result, VHL remains an important target for investigations of cellular regulation, developmental biology, vascular biology, and disease-associated signaling mechanisms.

VHL Antibody is useful for evaluating VHL expression and studying molecular pathways involved in oxygen sensing, hypoxia responses, angiogenesis, metabolism, and cellular homeostasis. Researchers utilize VHL Antibody reagents to investigate the biologic functions of VHL and its role in maintaining normal cellular physiology across a wide range of experimental systems.
