SNAP25 Antibody Biotin Conjugate recognizes SNAP25, also called synaptosomal-associated protein 25, an essential component of the neuronal SNARE complex. SNAP25 associates with syntaxin and synaptobrevin/VAMP proteins to form the molecular machinery that brings synaptic vesicles and the presynaptic plasma membrane together during regulated exocytosis. Through this activity, SNAP25 plays a central role in synaptic vesicle docking, membrane fusion and neurotransmitter release.
SNAP25 is highly enriched in neurons and is particularly associated with presynaptic nerve terminals. The protein is widely studied in research involving synaptic organization, neuronal signaling, neurotransmission and regulated secretion. SNAP25 is also a substrate of several clostridial neurotoxins, whose cleavage of the protein disrupts SNARE complex function and inhibits neurotransmitter release.
This SNAP25 Antibody Biotin Conjugate is derived from an antigen affinity-purified goat polyclonal antibody generated against a SNAP25 peptide. The biotin-conjugated format enables detection using avidin- or streptavidin-based systems and provides an alternative to an unconjugated primary antibody for compatible experimental designs.
