Parathyroid hormone (PTH), encoded by the PTH gene, is a peptide hormone produced by endocrine chief cells of the parathyroid glands and serves as a central regulator of calcium and phosphate homeostasis. By controlling bone resorption, renal calcium reabsorption, and vitamin D metabolism, PTH maintains systemic mineral balance. Parathyroid Hormone Antibody Recombinant Mouse MAb rPTH/911 recognizes this endocrine hormone and enables detection of PTH protein in tissue sections used for endocrine pathology and research studies.
Parathyroid Hormone Antibody clone rPTH/911 is a recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody developed for sensitive detection of PTH in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. PTH immunohistochemistry is widely used in endocrine pathology to identify parathyroid tissue and to confirm parathyroid origin in neck lesions. In histological specimens, strong cytoplasmic staining is typically observed in parathyroid chief cells, reflecting intracellular synthesis and storage of the hormone prior to secretion. This staining pattern allows clear visualization of hormone-producing endocrine cells within parathyroid gland tissue.
PTH immunohistochemistry plays an important role in the diagnostic evaluation of parathyroid tumors. Strong staining with a PTH antibody is frequently observed in parathyroid adenoma and parathyroid hyperplasia, while parathyroid carcinoma may also demonstrate PTH-positive tumor cells depending on the biological behavior of the lesion. Because thyroid and parathyroid tissues can appear similar in certain surgical specimens, PTH antibody staining provides a valuable molecular marker to help distinguish parathyroid-derived tumors from thyroid follicular lesions or metastatic neoplasms in the neck region. For this reason, PTH antibody staining is commonly used as a PTH IHC marker in endocrine tumor pathology and parathyroid adenoma immunohistochemistry studies.
Parathyroid hormone is synthesized as preproparathyroid hormone and undergoes intracellular processing to generate the biologically active peptide hormone prior to secretion. Immunohistochemistry detection therefore highlights cytoplasmic localization within hormone-producing endocrine cells of the parathyroid gland. PTH staining patterns observed with a Parathyroid Hormone antibody typically demonstrate strong cytoplasmic signal within parathyroid chief cells arranged in nests or cords within the glandular tissue.
This recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody clone rPTH/911 recognizes Parathyroid hormone and supports detection of PTH expression in tissue sections used for endocrine pathology and histological studies. A Parathyroid Hormone antibody suitable for immunohistochemistry applications enables investigation of parathyroid gland biology, evaluation of PTH immunohistochemistry in parathyroid adenoma, and characterization of endocrine tumors that produce parathyroid hormone.
Optimal dilution of the Parathyroid Hormone Antibody Recombinant Mouse MAb rPTH/911 should be determined by the researcher.
1. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.
A synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of the human protein was used as the immunogen for the recombinant Parathyroid Hormone antibody.
Store the recombinant Parathyroid Hormone antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
