Description

PSME1 Antibody recognizes Proteasome Activator Subunit 1 (PSME1), more commonly known as PA28 alpha or REGalpha, a regulatory component of the 11S proteasome activator complex. PA28 alpha binds to the ends of the 20S proteasome core and enhances the generation of peptide fragments used for Major Histocompatibility Complex class I antigen presentation. By promoting immunoproteasome activity, PA28 alpha plays an important role in adaptive immunity, antiviral defense, and cellular responses to inflammatory stimuli. As a result, PSME1 Antibody is widely used to investigate antigen processing, proteasome regulation, and immune function.

PA28 alpha is broadly expressed in mammalian tissues and is strongly induced by interferon gamma and other pro-inflammatory cytokines. It associates with PA28 beta (PSME2) to form a heteroheptameric complex that increases proteasomal peptide production without requiring ubiquitin-dependent substrate recognition. In addition to antigen presentation, PA28 alpha contributes to the removal of oxidatively damaged proteins, maintenance of protein homeostasis, and regulation of cellular stress responses. These diverse functions make PSME1 Antibody valuable for studies of proteostasis, inflammation, and immunoproteasome biology.

Aberrant expression of PA28 alpha has been reported in autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammatory disorders, viral infections, neurodegenerative diseases, and numerous cancers. Altered immunoproteasome activity can influence tumor immune surveillance, immune escape, and responses to immunotherapy, leading to increasing interest in PA28 alpha as both a biomarker and potential therapeutic target. Consequently, PSME1 Antibody is frequently used to investigate immune-mediated protein degradation, antigen presentation pathways, and disease-associated changes in proteasome function.

NSJ Bioreagents offers highly validated PSME1 antibodies for reliable detection of endogenous PA28 alpha in human and animal samples. These antibodies provide dependable performance across western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, and other applications for researchers studying immunoproteasome activation, antigen presentation, and cellular protein quality control.
