Protein kinase C is the major phorbol ester receptor. Activation of PKC by calcium ions and the second messenger diacylglycerol is thought to play a central role in the induction of cellular responses to a variety of ligand-receptor systems and in the regulation of cellular responsiveness to external stimuli. Three of these, termed alpha, beta and gamma, are highly homologous. PRKCA1 is mapped to 17q22-q23.2. PRKCA1 regulates cardiac contractility and propensity toward heart failure.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the PKC alpha antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Human partial recombinant protein (AA 153-342) was used as the immunogen for this PKC alpha antibody.
After reconstitution, the PKC alpha antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
