CREB is a transcription factor that is a member of the leucine zipper family of DNA binding proteins. This protein binds as a homodimer to the cAMP-responsive element, (CRE), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters. The protein is phosphorylated by several protein kinases, and induces transcription of genes in response to hormonal stimulation of the cAMP pathway.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the phospho-CREB antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
The amino acids surrounding phosphorylated serine 133 from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the phospho-CREB antibody.
Aliquot the phospho-CREB antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
