IHC testing of FFPE human colon carcinoma stained with p53 antibody (clone TP53/1739). Required HIER: boil tissue sections in 10mM Citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Analysis of HuProt(TM) microarray containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins using p53 antibody (clone TP53/1739). These results demonstrate the foremost specificity of the TP53/1739 mAb.
Z- and S- score: The Z-score represents the strength of a signal that an antibody (in combination with a fluorescently-tagged anti-IgG secondary Ab) produces when binding to a particular protein on the HuProt(TM) array. Z-scores are described in units of standard deviations (SD's) above the mean value of all signals generated on that array. If the targets on the HuProt(TM) are arranged in descending order of the Z-score, the S-score is the difference (also in units of SD's) between the Z-scores. The S-score therefore represents the relative target specificity of an Ab to its intended target.
SDS-PAGE analysis of purified, BSA-free p53 antibody (clone TP53/1739) as confirmation of integrity and purity.

Description

p53 Antibody detects tumor protein p53, a transcription factor encoded by the TP53 gene and a central regulator of cellular responses to DNA damage and other forms of stress. p53 functions as a major tumor suppressor by regulating genes involved in cell cycle arrest, DNA repair, senescence and apoptosis. Under normal conditions, p53 protein levels are tightly controlled, while cellular stress can promote p53 stabilization and activation.

TP53 is one of the most frequently altered genes in human cancer. Mutations can impair normal tumor suppressor activity, and certain mutant forms of p53 may accumulate within tumor cells. For this reason, p53 expression is widely investigated in studies of tumor development, cancer progression, genomic stability and therapeutic response.

A p53 Antibody can support research into TP53 expression, DNA damage responses, cell cycle regulation, apoptosis and tumor suppressor signaling in normal and malignant cells.

Researchers studying p53 expression and TP53 signaling can explore our Protein Microarray Validated p53 Antibody page for additional reagents targeting this key tumor suppressor in cancer, DNA damage response and cell cycle research.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the p53 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

Recombinant full length human protein was used as the immunogen for the p53 antibody.

Storage

Store the p53 antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
