p53 Antibody detects tumor protein p53, a transcription factor encoded by the TP53 gene and a central regulator of cellular responses to DNA damage and other forms of stress. p53 functions as a major tumor suppressor by regulating genes involved in cell cycle arrest, DNA repair, senescence and apoptosis.
