NCAM1 Antibody ERIC-1 / CD56 Antibody is a mouse monoclonal antibody recognizing human neural cell adhesion molecule 1 (NCAM1), commonly known as CD56. NCAM1 is a cell-surface glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily and participates in cell-cell adhesion, cellular recognition, migration, and signaling. The protein is particularly associated with neural tissues, where it contributes to neuronal development, neurite outgrowth, synaptic organization, and neural plasticity. NCAM1 occurs in several major isoforms and can undergo extensive post-translational modification, including polysialylation, which influences its adhesive and signaling properties.
Outside the nervous system, CD56 is an important marker of natural killer cells and subsets of T lymphocytes. Its expression has made NCAM1 Antibody reagents useful for research into CD56-positive immune cell populations and their functions. NCAM1 is also expressed in a variety of neuroectodermal tissues and tumors. Clone ERIC-1 has a long history of use in studies involving neural and neuroectodermal tissues, providing an established reagent for investigating the distribution and biological roles of NCAM1/CD56.
NCAM1 expression is widely studied in cancer biology and pathology, particularly in tumors exhibiting neural or neuroendocrine differentiation. CD56 expression is associated with several neuroectodermal and neuroendocrine malignancies, while changes in NCAM1 expression and function may influence cellular adhesion, migration, signaling, and interactions within the tumor microenvironment. Clone ERIC-1 has been used in numerous published studies, providing this NCAM1 Antibody with an extensive research history for investigations involving CD56 expression, neural biology, immune cells, and cancer.
Clone ERIC-1 is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against human NCAM1/CD56. Its extensive published research history makes it a well-established clone for researchers investigating NCAM1 expression and CD56-associated biology. This NCAM1 Antibody supports research into neural cell adhesion, neuronal development, immune cell characterization, neuroectodermal biology, and NCAM1-expressing cancers.
For additional information on NCAM1/CD56 and its roles in neural cell adhesion, neuronal development, and cell signaling, see our NCAM1 Antibody / Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 Antibody page.
Optimal dilution of the NCAM1 Antibody ERIC-1 / CD56 Antibody should be determined by the researcher.
A recombinant human protein was used as the immunogen for this NCAM1 Antibody ERIC-1. This MAb reacts with an extracellular domain (close to transmembrane) of CD56/NCAM.
Store the NCAM1 Antibody ERIC-1 at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
