IL2RA Antibody RM418 recognizes CD25, the alpha subunit of the interleukin 2 receptor encoded by the IL2RA gene. CD25 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed prominently by activated lymphocytes and regulatory T cells. As a component of the IL-2 receptor system, IL2RA helps regulate cellular responsiveness to interleukin 2 and contributes to mechanisms controlling lymphocyte proliferation, differentiation, survival, and immune homeostasis.
CD25 binds IL-2 independently with relatively low affinity and lacks the intracellular signaling capacity required to transmit the cytokine signal by itself. Association with IL2RB (CD122) and the common gamma chain IL2RG (CD132) produces the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex. This receptor configuration efficiently captures IL-2 and facilitates signaling through pathways including JAK-STAT, PI3K-AKT, and MAPKs, linking extracellular cytokine availability to changes in immune-cell function.
IL2RA expression increases following activation of conventional T and B lymphocytes and is characteristically high on regulatory T cells. Access to IL-2 through CD25-containing receptors is particularly important for regulatory T-cell development, maintenance, and suppressive function. CD25 is therefore studied extensively in lymphocyte activation, immune tolerance, inflammatory responses, autoimmunity, and hematologic malignancies. Soluble CD25 can also be generated and has been investigated as an indicator of immune-system activation.
Clone RM418 is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody generated against an N-terminal peptide from human IL2RA. As a CD25 Recombinant Antibody, RM418 provides a sequence-defined monoclonal reagent for investigating the alpha subunit of the IL-2 receptor and its relationship to lymphocyte activation and immune regulation. NSJ Bioreagents supplies RM418 for research use only.
An IL2RA Antibody can be used to investigate CD25 expression and molecular mechanisms connecting IL-2 receptor biology, regulatory T-cell function, lymphocyte activation, and immune homeostasis.
For a monoclonal clone with IHC and protein microarray specificity validation, see our CD25 Antibody IL2RA/2395 / IL2RA Antibody page.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the IL2RA Antibody RM418 / CD25 Recombinant Antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human Interleukin-2 receptor subunit alpha was used as the immunogen for the recombinant IL2RA Antibody RM418.
Store the recombinant IL2RA Antibody RM418 at -20oC.
