IMP2 Antibody recognizes Insulin-Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 2 (IGF2BP2), a member of the highly conserved IMP family of RNA-binding proteins that regulates messenger RNA localization, stability, and translation. IMP2 was originally identified through its interaction with insulin-like growth factor 2 messenger RNA but is now known to bind thousands of cellular transcripts involved in growth, metabolism, differentiation, and stress responses. More recently, IMP2 has been established as a major reader of N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-modified RNA, where it stabilizes methylated transcripts and enhances their translation. Consequently, IMP2 Antibody is widely used to investigate RNA metabolism, epitranscriptomic regulation, developmental biology, metabolism, and cancer.
IMP2 contains two RNA recognition motifs and four K homology domains that enable selective binding to target messenger RNAs. Together with the related proteins IMP1 (IGF2BP1) and IMP3 (IGF2BP3), it coordinates post-transcriptional gene regulation by controlling transcript transport, localization, stability, and protein synthesis. IMP2 influences numerous biological processes including embryonic development, stem cell maintenance, insulin signaling, mitochondrial function, glucose homeostasis, and cellular proliferation. Because of these diverse activities, IMP2 Antibody has become an important research tool for studying RNA-binding proteins and post-transcriptional control of gene expression.
Aberrant IMP2 expression has been associated with numerous human diseases, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, cardiovascular disease, and many malignancies such as hepatocellular carcinoma, pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, and leukemia. In cancer, IMP2 frequently promotes tumor progression by stabilizing oncogenic mRNAs and enhancing proliferation, migration, invasion, metastasis, and resistance to therapy. Its emerging role as an m6A reader has further expanded interest in IMP2 as a biomarker and potential therapeutic target for precision medicine.
NSJ Bioreagents offers highly validated IMP2 Antibody products for reliable detection of endogenous IMP2 in human and animal samples. These antibodies support investigations into RNA-binding proteins, m6A-dependent gene regulation, messenger RNA stability, metabolic signaling, developmental biology, and oncology while providing dependable performance across western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, and other research applications.
