CD225 Antibody Human Cancer and Immune Cell WB. IFITM1 Antibody was used for Western blot analysis on lane 1: human K562, lane 2: human HeLa, lane 3: human HepG2, and lane 4: human Jurkat whole cell lysates. A distinct immunoreactive band is detected at approximately 14–17 kDa in each sample, consistent with the expected molecular weight of IFITM1. Variable expression is observed across the different cell lines, with the strongest signal detected in K562 cells. This IFITM1 Antibody / CD225 Antibody is well suited for Western blot studies of CD225 expression, interferon signaling, innate immunity, antiviral defense, and immune cell biology.

Description

IFITM1 Antibody / CD225 Antibody recognizes IFITM1, a membrane protein widely known in immunology as CD225. The CD225 designation reflects its identification as a leukocyte differentiation antigen expressed on numerous hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cell types, particularly following interferon stimulation. While IFITM1 is frequently studied for its antiviral activity, the CD225 nomenclature is commonly encountered in research involving immune cell phenotyping, leukocyte activation, cytokine responses, and cell surface marker analysis. As a result, a CD225 Antibody is an important reagent for investigators examining immune regulation, inflammatory signaling, and membrane-associated protein expression across diverse experimental systems.

CD225 is a small transmembrane glycoprotein that localizes predominantly to the plasma membrane and intracellular membrane compartments, where it participates in regulating membrane organization, receptor-associated signaling, and cellular interactions. Expression is rapidly induced by both type I and type II interferons and is observed in activated lymphocytes, monocytes, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, and many additional cell types responding to inflammatory stimuli. Because CD225 expression closely reflects interferon pathway activation, researchers frequently use it as a biomarker of immune activation while studying cytokine signaling, host defense mechanisms, and innate immune responses. A IFITM1 Antibody is therefore valuable for monitoring CD225 expression in normal physiology as well as experimental models of infection and inflammation.

Beyond immunology, CD225 has become an increasingly important biomarker in cancer research. Elevated CD225 expression has been reported in colorectal, gastric, breast, lung, cervical, ovarian, and head and neck cancers, where it has been associated with increased tumor cell proliferation, migration, invasion, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, and resistance to therapy. CD225 has also attracted attention as a potential indicator of interferon-responsive tumor microenvironments and anti-tumor immune activity. Investigators routinely evaluate CD225 alongside immune checkpoint molecules, inflammatory mediators, and interferon-stimulated genes to better understand the interactions between malignant cells and the immune system. Consequently, an IFITM1 Antibody supports studies spanning oncology, immunology, inflammation, and infectious disease research.

CD225 is routinely analyzed using Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and immunoprecipitation to examine protein expression, membrane localization, and interferon-dependent regulation. Because the CD225 designation is widely recognized within immunology and leukocyte biology, antibodies targeting this protein are frequently incorporated into studies of immune cell characterization and inflammatory signaling in addition to antiviral research. NSJ Bioreagents provides carefully validated antibodies to support these applications across multiple experimental models. An IFITM1 Antibody / CD225 Antibody provides researchers with a dependable tool for investigating leukocyte biology, interferon responses, membrane protein expression, and immune-related mechanisms in health and disease.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the IFITM1 Antibody / CD225 Antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

Amino acids VTVYHIMLQIIQEKRGY from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the IFITM1 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the IFITM1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
