ICAM1 Antibody ICAM1/6319 in Human Tonsil IHC. Immunohistochemistry staining of FFPE human tonsil tissue with ICAM1 Antibody clone ICAM1/6319 at 2 ug/ml shows prominent membranous staining in subsets of lymphoid and stromal cells, with particularly strong signal associated with vascular and intercellular structures. The PBS negative-control inset shows minimal background staining. HIER was performed by boiling sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 min followed by cooling before testing.
ICAM1 Antibody ICAM1/6319 / Cell Adhesion Molecule Antibody in Human Lymph Node IHC. Immunohistochemistry staining of FFPE human lymph node tissue with ICAM1 Antibody clone ICAM1/6319 shows heterogeneous membranous and cell-associated staining within the lymphoid tissue, with stronger immunoreactivity in localized cellular regions. HIER was performed by boiling sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 min followed by cooling before testing.
ICAM1 Antibody ICAM1/6319 in Human Lymph Node Follicle IHC. Immunohistochemistry staining of FFPE human lymph node tissue with ICAM1 Antibody clone ICAM1/6319 shows strong membranous staining within a discrete lymphoid follicular region, sharply highlighting cell-cell boundaries against the more weakly stained surrounding lymphoid tissue. HIER was performed by boiling sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 min followed by cooling before testing.
ICAM1 Antibody ICAM1/6319 in Human Renal Cell Carcinoma IHC. Immunohistochemistry staining of FFPE human renal cell carcinoma tissue with ICAM1 Antibody clone ICAM1/6319 shows strong predominantly membranous staining of tumor cells, clearly outlining numerous cell borders throughout the carcinoma sample. HIER was performed by boiling sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 min followed by cooling before testing.

Description

ICAM1 Antibody ICAM1/6319 / Cell Adhesion Molecule Antibody recognizes intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM1), a cell-surface glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Also known as ICAM-1 and CD54, the protein contains five extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, a single transmembrane region, and a short cytoplasmic domain. ICAM1 functions as an important mediator of cell-cell adhesion and helps coordinate interactions between circulating immune cells, vascular endothelium, and other cell types.

ICAM1 is a major ligand for lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1), an integrin composed of CD11a and CD18. It also interacts with the leukocyte integrin Mac-1, composed of CD11b and CD18. These interactions strengthen adhesion between leukocytes and other cells and contribute to leukocyte migration across vascular endothelium. ICAM1-mediated adhesion also helps stabilize contacts between lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells during immune responses.

Expression of ICAM1 is highly responsive to inflammatory signals. Cytokines and other stimuli can substantially increase its expression on endothelial, epithelial, and immune cells, promoting leukocyte recruitment to sites of inflammation. This regulated expression has made ICAM1 an important target in studies of inflammation, immune cell trafficking, vascular biology, and tissue injury. Altered ICAM1 expression has also been investigated in cancer, where changes in cellular adhesion and the tumor microenvironment can influence disease progression.

ICAM1 additionally serves as a cellular receptor for major-group human rhinoviruses, connecting this adhesion molecule with mechanisms of viral attachment and infection. The protein is extensively N-glycosylated, which contributes to an apparent molecular weight substantially greater than that predicted from its amino acid sequence. Clone ICAM1/6319 is a mouse monoclonal antibody directed against human ICAM1 and provides a clone-specific reagent for investigating this multifunctional adhesion molecule.

NSJ Bioreagents offers this Cell Adhesion Molecule Antibody for research into ICAM1 expression and adhesion biology. An ICAM1 Antibody can support investigation of leukocyte trafficking, immune cell interactions, inflammatory responses, vascular biology, and other processes involving regulated cell adhesion.
