CD36 Antibody Human Mouse Rat WB. Western blot analysis of CD36 expression using a CD36 antibody. Lane 1: rat liver tissue lysate. Lane 2: rat heart tissue lysate. Lane 3: mouse liver tissue lysate. Lane 4: mouse heart tissue lysate. Lane 5: human SMCC cell lysate. CD36, also known as Fatty Acid Translocase, is a multifunctional scavenger receptor that mediates long chain fatty acid uptake and contributes to lipid metabolism and cellular energy homeostasis. A prominent band is detected at approximately 88 kDa in all samples, corresponding to the heavily glycosylated form of CD36. The apparent molecular weight of CD36 is known to range from approximately 53 kDa for the unglycosylated protein to approximately 88 kDa following glycosylation. These results demonstrate conserved expression of CD36 across multiple species and support the utility of CD36 Antibody for studies of lipid transport, cardiovascular biology, metabolism, and scavenger receptor function.
CD36 Antibody Rat Spleen IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE rat spleen demonstrates CD36 expression using a CD36 antibody. CD36, also known as Fatty Acid Translocase, is a multifunctional scavenger receptor involved in long chain fatty acid uptake, lipid metabolism, and immune regulation. Predominantly membranous and cytoplasmic staining is observed in splenic macrophages and other mononuclear cells, consistent with the established role of CD36 in phagocytosis, inflammation, and recognition of oxidized lipoproteins. Heat induced epitope retrieval was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 6 10 mM citrate buffer for 20 minutes followed by cooling prior to staining. These results support the utility of CD36 Antibody for studies of scavenger receptor biology, lipid transport, immune responses, and metabolic disease.
CD36 Antibody Human Lung Cancer IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE human lung cancer demonstrates CD36 expression using a CD36 antibody. CD36, also known as Fatty Acid Translocase, is a multifunctional scavenger receptor involved in long chain fatty acid uptake, lipid metabolism, and cellular energy homeostasis. Predominantly membranous and cytoplasmic staining is observed in tumor associated cells and subsets of malignant cells, consistent with the role of CD36 in metabolic reprogramming, inflammation, and tumor progression. Heat induced epitope retrieval was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 6 10 mM citrate buffer for 20 minutes followed by cooling prior to staining. These results support the utility of CD36 Antibody for studies of cancer metabolism, lipid transport, scavenger receptor biology, and the tumor microenvironment.

Description

CD36 Antibody detects CD36 (cluster of differentiation 36), also known as FAT (fatty acid translocase), FAT/CD36, SCARB3, GP88, glycoprotein IV (gpIV), and glycoprotein IIIb (gpIIIb), an integral membrane protein found on the surface of many cell types in vertebrate animals. It is a member of the class B scavenger receptor family of cell surface proteins. It is mapped to 7q21.11. And CD36 binds many ligands including collagen, thrombospondin, erythrocytes parasitized with Plasmodium falciparum, oxidized low density lipoprotein, native lipoproteins, oxidized phospholipids, and long-chain fatty acids. In addition, CD36 function in long-chain fatty acid uptake and signaling can be irreversibly inhibited by sulfo-N-succinimidyl oleate (SSO), which binds lysine 164 within a hydrophobic pocked shared by several CD36 ligands, e.g. fatty acid and oxLDL.

Visit our CD36 Antibody page to discover additional antibodies against this Fatty Acid Translocase and multifunctional scavenger receptor involved in fatty acid uptake, cardiovascular biology, and cancer metabolism.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the CD36 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

Amino acids DLLIQKTIKKQVVLEEGTIAFKNWVKTGTEVYRQFW of human CD36 were used as the immunogen for the CD36 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the CD36 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
