APOA4 Antibody APOA4/3372 / Apolipoprotein A-IV Antibody recognizes apolipoprotein A-IV (ApoA-IV), a secreted lipid-binding protein encoded by the APOA4 gene. ApoA-IV belongs to the exchangeable apolipoprotein family and is synthesized predominantly in the intestine. Following synthesis as a preprotein and proteolytic processing, ApoA-IV is secreted in association with newly formed chylomicron particles and subsequently circulates in both lipoprotein-associated and lipid-poor forms. Its amphipathic alpha-helical structure supports interactions with lipids and contributes to its functions in lipoprotein metabolism.
ApoA-IV participates in several aspects of lipid transport and metabolic regulation. Its secretion increases in response to intestinal lipid absorption, linking APOA4 expression with the processing and transport of dietary lipids. ApoA-IV can associate with chylomicrons and high-density lipoprotein particles and has been investigated for roles in cholesterol transport, triglyceride metabolism, and lipoprotein remodeling. The protein can also activate lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) in vitro, providing another connection between ApoA-IV and cholesterol metabolism.
Beyond its role in circulating lipoproteins, ApoA-IV has been studied in relation to intestinal lipid absorption, energy homeostasis, glucose metabolism, and cardiovascular biology. Research has also examined potential antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of ApoA-IV and its influence on processes associated with atherosclerosis and metabolic disease. These diverse activities make APOA4 a useful target for studying the relationship between intestinal lipid handling and systemic metabolic regulation.
Clone APOA4/3372 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against a region within amino acids 239-371 of human ApoA-IV. This APOA4 Antibody is Protein Microarray Validated using a HuProt array containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins, providing additional evidence of target specificity.
NSJ Bioreagents offers this Apolipoprotein A-IV Antibody for research into ApoA-IV expression and apolipoprotein biology. An APOA4 Antibody can support studies of lipid transport, intestinal lipid metabolism, lipoprotein biology, and metabolic regulation.
Explore our Signal Transduction Antibodies page for additional reagents targeting proteins involved in cellular signaling, metabolic regulation, and responses to extracellular cues.
Optimal dilution of the APOA4 Antibody APOA4/3372 / Apolipoprotein A-IV Antibody should be determined by the researcher.
A portion of amino acids 239-371 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the APOA4 Antibody APOA4/3372.
Store the APOA4 Antibody APOA4/3372 at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
