ANXA2 Antibody ABDG-1 in Mouse Colon IHC. Immunohistochemistry testing of clone ABDG-1 in FFPE mouse colon tissue. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed using pH 9 TE buffer prior to staining. Strong membranous and cytoplasmic Annexin II immunoreactivity is observed throughout the intestinal epithelium, with particularly prominent staining along the epithelial cell borders.

Western blot testing of clone ABDG-1 in human A549 lung carcinoma, U251 glioma, A431 epidermoid carcinoma and RT4 bladder cancer cell lysates, rat lung and liver tissue lysates, and mouse lung and liver tissue lysates. Samples were tested under reducing conditions with 30 ug loaded per lane. A strong band is observed at approximately 36 kDa across all tested samples, consistent with the calculated molecular weight of Annexin A2 at 38.6 kDa. This ANXA2 Antibody demonstrates recognition of endogenous Annexin II in human, mouse and rat samples.

Description

ANXA2 Antibody ABDG-1 / Annexin II Antibody recognizes Annexin A2, a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein encoded by the ANXA2 gene. Historically known as Annexin II, lipocortin II and p36, the protein belongs to the annexin family and associates with cellular membranes in response to calcium. Annexin A2 is also capable of interacting with the actin cytoskeleton, positioning it at an important interface between membrane organization and cytoskeletal dynamics.

Annexin A2 participates in membrane-associated processes that include vesicle trafficking, endocytosis, exocytosis and membrane domain organization. The protein can exist as a monomer or associate with S100A10 to form the Annexin A2/S100A10 heterotetramer. This complex contributes to cell-surface functions involving plasminogen activation and extracellular proteolysis, while interactions of Annexin A2 with membrane phospholipids and cytoskeletal components contribute to cellular organization and migration.

ANXA2 expression and function have been investigated in cancer, angiogenesis, cardiovascular biology, inflammation and immune responses. Increased Annexin A2 expression has been reported in multiple tumor types, and its relationships with cell migration, invasion and plasmin generation have made the protein a frequent target in cancer biology. Annexin II is also studied more broadly as a regulator of membrane-cytoskeleton interactions and cellular responses to changes in calcium signaling.

Clone ABDG-1 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody generated against a synthetic peptide derived from human Annexin A2 and purified by affinity chromatography. The antibody recognizes human, mouse and rat ANXA2, providing cross-species utility for studies of Annexin A2 expression and biology.
