ZNF774 Antibody PCRP-ZNF774-3F7 Detection in HeLa Cervical Cancer Cells FACS. Flow cytometry analysis of PFA-fixed human HeLa cervical cancer cells using ZNF774 Antibody, clone PCRP-ZNF774-3F7, followed by goat anti-mouse IgG-CF488. The antibody-stained population (blue) shows a strong rightward fluorescence shift relative to unstained cells (red), demonstrating detection of Zinc Finger Protein 774 in human HeLa cells.

Description

ZNF774 Antibody PCRP-ZNF774-3F7 / Zinc Finger Protein 774 Antibody recognizes ZNF774, a member of the Kruppel C2H2-type zinc finger protein family. Zinc finger proteins comprise a large group of DNA-binding proteins characterized by zinc-coordinating domains that can mediate interactions with nucleic acids and other cellular components. Human ZNF774 is a 483-amino-acid protein containing multiple C2H2-type zinc finger domains and is associated with the nuclear compartment.

ZNF774 is predicted to function in transcriptional regulation. Current Gene Ontology annotations associate the protein with RNA polymerase II-specific DNA-binding transcription factor activity and sequence-specific binding to cis-regulatory regions. These predicted molecular functions are consistent with a role for Zinc Finger Protein 774 in controlling gene expression through interactions with regulatory DNA sequences. ZNF774 is also predicted to participate in regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II.

Compared with many extensively characterized transcription factors, the biological functions of ZNF774 remain relatively poorly defined. UniProt currently describes the protein as potentially involved in transcriptional regulation rather than assigning a detailed experimentally established pathway or cellular function. This limited characterization makes ZNF774 relevant to studies seeking to define the roles of less extensively investigated C2H2 zinc finger proteins in transcriptional control and cellular biology.
