uPA Receptor Antibody recognizes urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR), a GPI-anchored cell surface receptor encoded by the PLAUR gene. uPAR binds urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and concentrates plasmin generation at the cell surface, promoting extracellular matrix remodeling, proteolysis, and cellular migration. Through interactions with integrins, vitronectin, and additional signaling molecules, uPAR regulates pathways involved in adhesion, survival, tissue remodeling, and cell movement. Because of these functions, uPA Receptor Antibody is commonly used to investigate protease-mediated signaling, cancer biology, inflammation, and tissue remodeling processes.
uPAR expression is observed in activated immune cells, endothelial cells, fibroblasts, and numerous tumor types. Elevated PLAUR expression has been associated with increased tumor invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis, and remodeling of the tumor microenvironment. The ability of uPAR to coordinate extracellular matrix degradation with cell migration makes it an important regulator of invasive cellular behavior. uPA Receptor Antibody is therefore useful for studying mechanisms controlling cancer progression, metastatic potential, and interactions between tumor cells and surrounding stromal tissues.
In addition to its role in cancer research, uPAR contributes to immune regulation, wound repair, and inflammatory responses. Expression on monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, and other immune populations supports leukocyte migration and immune cell recruitment during inflammation. Cleavage of membrane-bound uPAR can generate soluble uPAR (suPAR), which has been investigated as a biomarker associated with immune activation, chronic inflammatory conditions, cardiovascular disease, kidney disorders, and infection severity.

Optimal dilution of the uPA Receptor antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Amino acids E230-S286 from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the uPA Receptor antibody.
After reconstitution, the uPA Receptor antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
