Description

COMP/TSP5 is a noncollagenous extracellular matrix (ECM) protein. It consists of five identical glycoprotein subunits, each with EGF-like and calcium-binding (thrombospondin-like) domains. Oligomerization results from formation of a five-stranded coiled coil and disulfides. Binding to other ECM proteins such as collagen appears to depend on divalent cations.

Application Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the TSP5 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

A portion of amino acids 314-343 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the TSP5 antibody.

Storage

Aliquot the TSP5 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
