The ACP5 gene encodes Tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase type 5, an iron containing glycoprotein which catalyzes the conversion of orthophosphoric monoester to alcohol and orthophosphate. It is the most basic of the acid phosphatases and is the only form not inhibited by L(+)-tartrate. [provided by RefSeq].
Titration of the TRAP antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 75-101 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this TRAP antibody.
