Description

TMEM87A Antibody / Transmembrane Protein 87A Antibody recognizes TMEM87A, a multi-pass transmembrane protein belonging to the LUSTR (LUng Seven TRansmembrane receptor) family. TMEM87A is an evolutionarily conserved membrane protein characterized by an extracellular beta-propeller domain and multiple transmembrane segments, structural features that suggest roles in protein trafficking, membrane organization, and cellular signaling. Although its biological functions are still being defined, increasing evidence indicates that TMEM87A participates in membrane-associated processes essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. NSJ Bioreagents provides TMEM87A Antibody / Transmembrane Protein 87A Antibody for researchers investigating this emerging membrane protein.

TMEM87A has been localized primarily to intracellular membrane compartments, including the Golgi apparatus and secretory pathway, where it is thought to contribute to protein sorting, vesicular trafficking, and membrane dynamics. Recent studies have also suggested roles in mechanosensitive signaling and regulation of membrane protein localization, supporting the concept that TMEM87A functions within pathways coordinating cellular responses to environmental and mechanical cues. As interest in membrane trafficking continues to expand, TMEM87A has become an increasingly important target for studies of intracellular transport and membrane biology.

Altered TMEM87A expression has been investigated in several disease settings, including cancer and developmental disorders, although its precise contributions remain under active investigation. Because membrane trafficking and receptor localization influence numerous signaling pathways, understanding TMEM87A function may provide new insights into cellular communication, tissue development, and disease progression. Continued research is expected to clarify how TMEM87A regulates membrane organization and interacts with other proteins involved in intracellular transport and signaling.

A TMEM87A Antibody is a valuable research tool for investigating Transmembrane Protein 87A expression, Golgi and secretory pathway biology, membrane trafficking, protein localization, mechanosensitive signaling, and cellular membrane organization.
