T-bet Antibody / Th1 Transcription Factor Antibody recognizes TBX21, a member of the T-box family of DNA-binding transcription factors. Commonly known as T-bet, TBX21 plays a central role in immune cell differentiation and is particularly associated with the development and function of T helper 1 (Th1) cells. T-box family proteins contain a conserved DNA-binding domain that enables regulation of gene-expression programs involved in cellular differentiation and development.
T-bet is a major transcriptional regulator of Th1 lineage development. Its expression promotes differentiation of naive CD4-positive T cells toward the Th1 phenotype and contributes to the establishment of characteristic Th1 gene-expression patterns. One of its best-characterized functions is activation of IFNG, which encodes interferon gamma, an important cytokine in cell-mediated immune responses. Expression of TBX21 and IFNG is also closely associated in natural killer cells.
The functions of T-bet extend beyond conventional Th1 cells, with the protein participating in transcriptional regulation in several lymphocyte populations. Its influence on immune differentiation and effector function has made TBX21 an important research target in studies of host defense, inflammation, immune-mediated disease and tumor immunology. A Th1 Transcription Factor Antibody can therefore be useful for investigating the molecular mechanisms connecting transcriptional regulation with immune cell identity and function.
This rabbit polyclonal antibody was generated against the human T-bet C-terminal peptide DKEAEGQFYNYFPN and purified by antigen affinity chromatography. The reagent has demonstrated reactivity with human, mouse and rat TBX21. NSJ Bioreagents provides this T-bet Antibody for research into TBX21 expression, Th1 differentiation, interferon-associated immune responses and transcriptional regulation.

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the T-bet Antibody / Th1 Transcription Factor Antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
An amino acid sequence from the C-terminus of human T-box expressed in T cells (DKEAEGQFYNYFPN) was used as the immunogen for this T-bet antibody.
After reconstitution, the T-bet antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
