SRB1 Antibody Rat Adrenal Gland IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE rat adrenal gland demonstrated strong SRB1 expression with prominent membrane and cytoplasmic staining of adrenal cortical cells. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed in pH8 EDTA buffer before immunostaining with the primary antibody and HRP-DAB detection. The distribution is consistent with the role of SCARB1 in mediating HDL-derived cholesterol uptake for steroid hormone biosynthesis. This SRB1 Antibody, an SCARB1 Antibody, is suitable for immunohistochemical studies of cholesterol transport, adrenal physiology and steroidogenic tissues.
SRB1 Antibody Rat Adrenal Cortex IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE rat adrenal gland showed strong membrane and cytoplasmic SRB1 expression throughout the adrenal cortex, with minimal staining in surrounding stromal regions. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed in pH8 EDTA buffer prior to staining with HRP-DAB detection. The staining pattern is consistent with the high expression of SCARB1 in steroidogenic cells that utilize HDL-derived cholesterol for steroid hormone synthesis. This SRB1 Antibody, an SCARB1 Antibody, is well suited for immunohistochemical studies of adrenal steroidogenesis, cholesterol transport and endocrine tissue biology.
SRB1 Antibody Mouse and Rat Liver WB. Western blot analysis detected SRB1 in rat liver (lane 1) and mouse liver (lane 2), with a prominent immunoreactive band at approximately 75–80 kDa. Although the predicted molecular weight ranges from 57–82 kDa, depending on glycosylation, the observed migration is consistent with the mature glycosylated form of the receptor. This SRB1 Antibody, an SCARB1 Antibody, demonstrates cross-reactivity with both rat and mouse tissues and is well suited for studies of hepatic cholesterol uptake, HDL metabolism and lipid homeostasis.

Description

SRB1 Antibody / SCARB1 Antibody recognizes Scavenger Receptor Class B Member 1 (SCARB1), a cell surface receptor that mediates the selective uptake of cholesterol esters from high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles. Encoded by the SCARB1 gene, this receptor is a key regulator of reverse cholesterol transport, enabling the movement of excess cholesterol from peripheral tissues to the liver for recycling or excretion. Through this activity, SCARB1 contributes to lipid homeostasis, bile acid synthesis and steroid hormone production. NSJ Bioreagents provides SRB1 antibodies for investigations of lipoprotein metabolism, cardiovascular disease and cholesterol biology.

SCARB1 is expressed most abundantly in hepatocytes, steroidogenic tissues, endothelial cells and macrophages, where it supports cholesterol uptake and membrane lipid regulation. In addition to its well-established role in HDL metabolism, SCARB1 influences endothelial function, inflammatory signaling and cellular responses to oxidative stress. Genetic variation or altered expression of SCARB1 has been linked to dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk, making the receptor an important biomarker in both basic and translational research.

Beyond cardiovascular biology, SCARB1 has emerged as an important molecule in cancer metabolism and infectious disease. Many tumors increase cholesterol uptake to support rapid proliferation, while several viruses exploit SCARB1 during host cell entry. As a result, analysis of SCARB1 expression has become increasingly valuable in studies of tumor biology, viral infection, metabolic disorders and therapeutic development. These diverse functions continue to expand the research applications of this receptor across multiple fields.

An SRB1 Antibody enables reliable detection of SCARB1 protein expression by Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry and related immunoassays. An SCARB1 Antibody is an important tool for investigating cholesterol transport, HDL receptor biology and mechanisms regulating lipid homeostasis.
