Description

Sirtuin 4, also known as SIRT4, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the SIRT4 gene. This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class IV of the sirtuin family.

Optimal dilution of the SIRT4 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

Amino acids HLKPDVVFFGDTVNPDKVDFVHKRVKEAD from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the SIRT4 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the SIRT4 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
