Periostin (POSTN) is a secreted extracellular matrix glycoprotein that plays a critical role in stromal organization, tissue remodeling, and cell-matrix interactions. Periostin (POSTN), also known as osteoblast specific factor 2, is widely expressed in fibroblasts and stromal compartments where it contributes to extracellular matrix assembly and structural support. Periostin is strongly induced during wound healing, fibrosis, and tumor progression, where it contributes to extracellular matrix deposition and stromal expansion.
