Pan Cytokeratin Antibody human prostate IHC. Immunohistochemistry analysis of cytokeratin expression in FFPE human prostate tissue using Pan Cytokeratin antibody clone PCK/4933R. Strong cytoplasmic HRP-DAB brown staining highlights epithelial cells lining glandular structures, demonstrating broad and uniform epithelial coverage, while surrounding stromal tissue remains negative. The staining pattern supports reliable identification of epithelial compartments across tissue regions. Negative control inset shows PBS used in place of primary antibody to confirm specificity of staining. HIER was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 minutes followed by cooling prior to antibody incubation.

Description

Cytokeratins are intermediate filament proteins expressed in epithelial cells, where they form a structural framework that maintains cellular integrity and supports tissue organization. These proteins are categorized into type I acidic and type II basic keratins, which assemble into filament networks that define epithelial identity. Because epithelial tissues express diverse combinations of cytokeratin isoforms depending on tissue type and differentiation state, antibodies capable of recognizing multiple keratins are essential for achieving comprehensive epithelial detection.

Pan Cytokeratin Antibody / Broad Epithelial Coverage Marker (clone PCK/4933R) is designed to provide uniform and inclusive detection of cytokeratin proteins across a wide range of epithelial tissues. This recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody cocktail recognizes multiple type I and type II keratins, enabling consistent labeling of epithelial cells regardless of keratin subtype expression. Pan cytokeratin antibody, also referred to as cytokeratin cocktail antibody or CK pan antibody, is widely used in immunohistochemistry for identification of epithelial lineage.

In tissue sections, this antibody produces strong and uniform cytoplasmic staining across epithelial compartments, including glandular, ductal, and stratified epithelia. The consistency of staining across different epithelial cell types allows reliable identification of epithelial structures and supports comparative analysis across tissues. This uniform detection profile is particularly advantageous in samples containing mixed epithelial populations, where consistent labeling is required for accurate interpretation.

The broad reactivity of clone PCK/4933R ensures that epithelial cells are detected even when cytokeratin expression varies between tissues or differentiation states. This reduces the risk of false-negative staining and improves confidence in epithelial identification, particularly in complex or heterogeneous samples. The recombinant rabbit format provides strong signal intensity and reproducibility, supporting consistent performance across experiments.

In tumor analysis, broad cytokeratin detection enables clear visualization of epithelial tumor cells across a range of carcinoma types. The uniform staining pattern facilitates identification of tumor cell populations and supports assessment of tumor distribution within tissue sections. This is particularly useful in cases where epithelial origin must be confirmed or where tumor heterogeneity requires consistent labeling across multiple regions.

Because this antibody is designed for inclusive epithelial detection, it is not intended for differentiation of specific keratin subtypes. Instead, it provides a comprehensive overview of epithelial presence, making it an effective first-line marker for identifying epithelial cells before applying more specialized antibodies.

In studies involving tissue comparison, the ability to detect epithelial cells consistently across different organs enhances interpretability and supports analysis of epithelial distribution patterns. This makes the antibody particularly useful for large-scale tissue studies and comparative histologic analysis.

Pan Cytokeratin Antibody clone PCK/4933R therefore provides a reliable and broadly reactive tool for epithelial detection, enabling consistent identification of epithelial cells and supporting comprehensive analysis of tissue composition across diverse biological samples.

This antibody is part of our Pan Cytokeratin Antibody collection, which enables broad epithelial detection across normal and cancer tissues.
