Mouse Lambda Light Chain Antibody clone RM110 Biotin Conjugate is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal reagent for detecting lambda light chains of murine immunoglobulins. Immunoglobulin molecules contain two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, with the light chains belonging to either the kappa or lambda class. Lambda light chains contribute to the antigen-binding region of antibodies and occur in immunoglobulins produced by mouse B cells and antibody-secreting plasma cells.
Immunoglobulin light-chain expression contributes to antibody diversity and provides a means of distinguishing antibody populations according to their light-chain class. Mouse lambda light chains associate with immunoglobulin heavy chains to form functional antibodies and may be present within membrane-associated B-cell receptors or secreted immunoglobulins. Selective detection of lambda light chain can therefore support studies of murine immunoglobulin expression and antibody composition.
Biotin conjugation provides a versatile detection format for immunoassays using avidin- or streptavidin-based detection systems. The strong interaction between biotin and avidin or streptavidin enables biotin-conjugated antibodies to be incorporated into assay designs without requiring an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. A biotinylated Mouse Lambda Antibody can consequently support detection strategies in which direct incorporation of the primary antibody into a biotin-based detection system is advantageous.
RM110 recognizes the lambda light chain of mouse immunoglobulins and shows no detectable ELISA cross-reactivity with mouse kappa light chain or the tested human, rat, and goat IgG preparations. The clone also recognizes non-reduced mouse IgG1 lambda by Western blot. These characteristics support selective detection of mouse lambda-containing immunoglobulins while distinguishing them from the tested kappa and non-mouse immunoglobulins.
A Mouse Lambda Light Chain Antibody such as the RM110 Biotin Conjugate provides a recombinant monoclonal reagent generated using mouse IgM lambda as the immunogen. The conjugated format combines the documented mouse lambda specificity of clone RM110 with biotin-based detection for immunoglobulin characterization and light-chain research. NSJ Bioreagents offers this reagent for research examining murine lambda-containing immunoglobulins and related immune processes.
