Mammaglobin A (SCGB2A2) is a secreted epithelial glycoprotein encoded by the SCGB2A2 gene and belongs to the secretoglobin family of small secreted proteins expressed predominantly in mammary tissue. Mammaglobin Antibody for IF (clone MGB/2682R) recognizes Mammaglobin A / SCGB2A2 and is designed to support immunofluorescence microscopy studies that visualize this breast-associated protein within cells and tissue sections.
Mammaglobin antibody, also referred to as Mammaglobin A antibody or SCGB2A2 antibody in the literature, detects a protein strongly associated with mammary epithelial differentiation. Mammaglobin A is produced by luminal epithelial cells of the mammary gland and secreted into glandular lumens as part of normal epithelial secretory activity. Because of this relatively restricted tissue distribution, Mammaglobin has been widely studied as a marker of mammary epithelial identity and breast tumor origin in experimental and pathological research.
Mammaglobin Antibody for IF enables visualization of Mammaglobin A expression using fluorescence microscopy, allowing researchers to observe the spatial distribution of the protein within individual cells. Immunofluorescence labeling provides high-resolution imaging of Mammaglobin localization, typically appearing as cytoplasmic fluorescence within epithelial tumor cells or cultured breast carcinoma cell lines. This fluorescence-based detection method allows Mammaglobin-positive epithelial cells to be distinguished from surrounding stromal or immune cells within complex tissue environments.
Immunofluorescence approaches are particularly valuable for studying protein localization, cellular morphology, and epithelial organization in breast cancer models. Fluorescent antibody labeling allows Mammaglobin Antibody for IF to be combined with nuclear stains or additional fluorescent antibodies in multicolor imaging experiments. These methods enable simultaneous visualization of Mammaglobin expression together with nuclear markers, cytoskeletal structures, or other epithelial proteins, supporting detailed analysis of cellular architecture and protein localization patterns.
Structurally, Mammaglobin A contains conserved cysteine residues typical of secretoglobin family proteins, contributing to stable folding within the secretory pathway. As a secreted epithelial protein, Mammaglobin is commonly detected within the cytoplasm of mammary epithelial cells and may also be observed in luminal secretions within glandular structures depending on tissue architecture and preparation methods. The recombinant rabbit monoclonal Mammaglobin Antibody for IF (clone MGB/2682R) provides a tool for fluorescence-based visualization of Mammaglobin A / SCGB2A2 in studies of breast epithelial biology, tumor cell populations, and protein localization in mammary gland and breast cancer research.
Optimal dilution of the Mammaglobin Antibody for IF should be determined by the researcher.
1. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.
Full length recombinant human protein was used as the immunogen for the recombinant Mammaglobin antibody.
Store the Mammaglobin antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
