IL-10 Antibody IL10/2651R recognizes interleukin 10 (IL-10), an immunoregulatory cytokine encoded by the IL10 gene. IL-10 was originally characterized as cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor (CSIF) because of its ability to suppress cytokine production by activated immune cells. It is now recognized as an important regulator of immune homeostasis that limits excessive inflammatory responses while helping protect tissues from immune-mediated damage.
IL-10 signals through a heterotetrameric receptor complex composed of IL10RA and IL10RB subunits. Ligand binding activates the receptor-associated kinases JAK1 and TYK2, leading predominantly to phosphorylation and activation of STAT3. The resulting transcriptional program regulates genes involved in inflammatory signaling, immune-cell activation, and feedback control of cytokine responses. Through these mechanisms, IL-10 can suppress production of pro-inflammatory mediators and modulate antigen-presenting cell activity.
IL-10 is produced by multiple immune-cell populations, including regulatory and conventional T cells, B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and other leukocytes. Its effects are particularly important in controlling the magnitude and duration of immune responses. Dysregulated IL-10 production or signaling is studied in chronic inflammation, autoimmune disease, infectious disease, cancer, and disorders involving impaired immune regulation. Depending on the biological setting, IL-10 can influence both innate and adaptive immune responses, making it an important subject in research examining mechanisms that balance inflammation with immune tolerance.
Clone IL10/2651R is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody generated against full-length recombinant human IL-10 protein. As a CSIF Antibody, clone IL10/2651R provides a defined reagent for investigating the cytokine historically identified as cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor and its role in controlling inflammatory and immune responses. NSJ Bioreagents supplies IL10/2651R for research use only.
An IL-10 Antibody can be used to investigate IL10 expression and molecular mechanisms connecting cytokine signaling, inflammatory regulation, immune homeostasis, and adaptive and innate immune responses.
Explore our Immunology Antibodies page for additional antibodies targeting cytokines and regulators of immune activation, inflammatory responses, and immune homeostasis.
Optimal dilution of the IL-10 Antibody IL10/2651R / CSIF Antibody should be determined by the researcher.
1. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.
Full length human protein was used as the immunogen for the IL-10 Antibody IL10/2651R.
Store the IL-10 Antibody IL10/2651R at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
