Prolactin, also known as Luteotropic hormone or Luteotropin, is a protein that in humans is best known for its role in enabling female mammals to produce milk. The PRL gene encodes the anterior pituitary hormone prolactin. This secreted hormone is a growth regulator for many tissues, including cells of the immune system. It may also play a role in cell survival by suppressing apoptosis, and it is essential for lactation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode the same protein.
Variations in secondary/substrate sensitivities and test protocols may require the Prolactin antibody to be titrated for optimal performance.
Human partial recombinant protein (AA 29-227) was used as the immunogen for this Prolactin antibody.
After reconstitution, the Prolactin antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
