PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody Dog Liver IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE dog liver tissue using PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody, clone PRKCI/4911. PRKCI expression is observed as strong cytoplasmic staining within hepatocytes, consistent with the protein's role as an atypical serine/threonine kinase involved in cell polarity and intracellular signaling. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed using pH 9 Tris-EDTA buffer for 20 minutes prior to immunostaining.
PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody Cat Liver IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE cat liver tissue using PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody, clone PRKCI/4911. PRKCI expression is detected predominantly within the cytoplasm of hepatocytes, consistent with its conserved role in regulating cell polarity, intracellular signaling, and epithelial homeostasis. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed using pH 9 Tris-EDTA buffer for 20 minutes prior to immunostaining.
PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody Human Brain IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of FFPE human brain tissue using PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody, clone PRKCI/4911. PRKCI expression is observed throughout the brain with predominantly cytoplasmic staining of neural cells, consistent with its established role in neuronal polarity, intracellular signaling, and maintenance of cell architecture. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed using pH 9 Tris-EDTA buffer for 20 minutes prior to immunostaining.
SDS-PAGE analysis of purified, BSA-free PRKCI antibody (clone PRKCI/4911) as confirmation of integrity and purity.
PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody HuProt Protein Microarray. Analysis of a human protein microarray containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins using PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody, clone PRKCI/4911, demonstrates exceptional target specificity. The antibody shows a high Z-score for PRKCI together with a strong S-score of 97.22, indicating highly selective recognition of the intended target with minimal cross-reactivity to other human proteins. The Z-score reflects the strength of antibody binding relative to background, while the S-score measures the specificity of binding to PRKCI compared with the next highest-ranking proteins on the array.

Description

PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody recognizes protein kinase C iota (PRKCI), a calcium- and diacylglycerol-independent serine/threonine kinase belonging to the atypical protein kinase C subfamily. Unlike conventional and novel PKC isoforms, PRKCI is activated primarily through protein-protein interactions and phosphorylation events, allowing it to regulate diverse signaling pathways involved in cell polarity, proliferation, migration, differentiation, and survival. PRKCI is expressed in numerous epithelial, neural, and immune tissues, where it contributes to the establishment and maintenance of normal cellular architecture and signaling.

PRKCI is a core component of the PAR polarity complex, functioning alongside PAR3 and PAR6 to establish apical-basal polarity and regulate asymmetric cell division. Through these interactions, PRKCI coordinates epithelial junction assembly, cytoskeletal organization, vesicle trafficking, and tissue morphogenesis. These conserved functions are essential during embryonic development and remain important in adult tissues requiring continuous renewal or regeneration. Disruption of PRKCI activity can impair epithelial integrity and alter normal tissue organization, making it an important target for developmental and cell biology research.

Beyond its role in cell polarity, PRKCI integrates signaling downstream of phosphoinositide 3-kinase, AKT, small GTPases, and additional regulatory pathways that influence cell growth and survival. PRKCI also contributes to regulation of the NF-kappa B pathway, apoptosis resistance, and directed cell migration. Aberrant PRKCI expression or activation has been reported in numerous malignancies, including cancers of the lung, ovary, pancreas, colon, and brain, where increased activity has been associated with tumor progression, invasion, and therapeutic resistance. Consequently, PRKCI has emerged as both a valuable biomarker and a potential therapeutic target in oncology research.

NSJ Bioreagents' PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody, clone PRKCI/4911, has been validated for immunohistochemistry and demonstrates excellent target specificity by Human Protein Microarray analysis, producing a high Z-score together with a strong S-score that confirms selective binding to PRKCI over closely related proteins. Combined with its suitability for studies of epithelial polarity, signal transduction, development, and cancer biology, this PRKCI Antibody / Atypical Protein Kinase C Antibody provides researchers with a dependable tool for investigating PRKCI expression and localization in normal and diseased tissues.
