Description

PRDX6 is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox regulation of the cell; it can reduce H(2)O(2) and short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. It may play a role in the regulation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury.

Application Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the PRDX6 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

A portion of amino acids 197-224 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the PRDX6 antibody.

Storage

Aliquot the PRDX6 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
