Inorganic pyrophosphatase 2, mitochondrial is is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PPA2 gene. It is mapped to 4q24. The protein encoded by this gene is localized to the mitochondrion, is highly similar to members of the inorganic pyrophosphatase (PPase) family, and contains the signature sequence essential for the catalytic activity of PPase. PPases catalyze the hydrolysis of pyrophosphate to inorganic phosphate, which is important for the phosphate metabolism of cells. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
Optimal dilution of the PPA2 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Amino acids A33-K334 from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the PPA2 antibody.
After reconstitution, the PPA2 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
