PMEL17 Antibody / Melanoma gp100 [clone MSSG95] (V7147)

Description

PMEL17/Melanoma gp100/SILV plays a central role in the biogenesis of melanosomes. Involved in the maturation of melanosomes from stage I to II. The transition from stage I melanosomes to stage II melanosomes involves an elongation of the vesicle, and the appearance within of distinct fibrillar structures. Release of the soluble form, ME20-S, could protect tumor cells from antibody mediated immunity. [UniProt]

The gp100 molecule is a 100kDa glycosylated protein that is cleaved into a small (26kDa) carboxy-terminal fragment and a larger amino- terminal section (60-64 kDa), which is subsequently cleaved to generate 26kDa and 34-38kDa fragments.

Application Notes

Titering of the PMEL17 antibody may be required for optimal performance.

1. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.

Immunogen

Recombinant human protein was used as the immunogen for the PMEL17 antibody.

Storage

Store the PMEL17 antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
