PRKCA is a calcium-activated, phospholipid-dependent, serine-and threonine-specific enzyme. It may play a role in cell motility by phosphorylating CSPG4. PKC is activated by diacylglycerol which in turn phosphorylates a range of cellular proteins. PKC also serves as the receptor for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the PKC alpha antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 75-103 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the PKC alpha antibody.
Aliquot the PKC alpha antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
