Description

Pim proteins (Pim-1, Pim-2 and Pim-3) are oncogene-encoded serine/threonine kinases. Pim-2 is highly homologous to Pim-1 with similar oncogenic functions. Pim-2 overexpression promotes resistance to a host of apoptotic stimuli; its expression is negatively regulated by growth factor depletion. Increased levels of Pim-2 has also been observed in certain cancers.

Application Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the PIM2 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

A portion of amino acids 277-308 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the PIM2 antibody.

Storage

Aliquot the PIM2 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
