Phospho-KIT pY936 Antibody / Phospho-Stem Cell Factor Receptor Polyclonal Antibody recognizes KIT when phosphorylated at tyrosine 936. KIT, also known as c-Kit, CD117 and the stem cell factor receptor, is a type III receptor tyrosine kinase involved in cellular proliferation, survival, differentiation and migration. Binding of stem cell factor promotes receptor dimerization and kinase activation, initiating phosphorylation-dependent events that regulate receptor signaling and cellular responses.
KIT contains an extracellular ligand-binding region, a single transmembrane segment and an intracellular split tyrosine kinase domain. Following activation, phosphorylation of multiple tyrosine residues creates regulatory and protein-interaction sites that connect the receptor with intracellular signaling machinery. KIT can regulate pathways including PI3K/AKT and RAS/MAPK, allowing stem cell factor to influence growth, survival and differentiation.
Tyrosine 936 is located within the intracellular C-terminal region of KIT. Phosphorylation of C-terminal tyrosine residues can create docking sites for signaling and regulatory proteins, providing a mechanism through which receptor activation is coupled to downstream cellular responses. A Phospho-Stem Cell Factor Receptor Polyclonal Antibody allows phosphorylation at Tyr936 to be examined independently of total KIT abundance and can complement total-protein measurements in studies of receptor regulation.
KIT signaling has important roles in hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, melanocytes and germ cells. Dysregulated KIT activity is also extensively investigated in cancer biology, particularly in gastrointestinal stromal tumors and other malignancies involving abnormal KIT expression or activating mutations. Site-specific phospho detection provides an additional approach for examining the molecular events associated with KIT regulation.
NSJ Bioreagents offers this phospho-specific reagent for research into KIT phosphorylation and stem cell factor receptor signaling. The Phospho-KIT pY936 Antibody terminology identifies the receptor and targeted phosphorylation site, while Phospho-Stem Cell Factor Receptor Polyclonal Antibody provides an expanded functional designation incorporating antibody clonality.
A Phospho-KIT pY936 Antibody provides a phosphorylation-specific reagent for investigating KIT phosphorylation at Tyr936, while a Phospho-Stem Cell Factor Receptor Polyclonal Antibody supports research into receptor regulation and signaling.
