Phospho-CD117 pY719 Antibody / Phospho-c-Kit Polyclonal Antibody recognizes KIT when phosphorylated at tyrosine 719. KIT, also known as c-Kit, CD117 and the stem cell factor receptor, is a type III receptor tyrosine kinase involved in cellular proliferation, survival, differentiation and migration. Binding of stem cell factor promotes receptor dimerization and kinase activation, leading to phosphorylation-dependent recruitment of signaling proteins and initiation of downstream cellular responses.
KIT contains an extracellular ligand-binding region, a single transmembrane segment and an intracellular split tyrosine kinase domain. Following receptor activation, multiple tyrosine residues become phosphorylated and function as regulatory or protein-interaction sites. These phosphorylation events connect KIT to intracellular pathways including PI3K/AKT and RAS/MAPK and help coordinate cellular responses to stem cell factor.
Tyrosine 719 is an intracellular phosphorylation site associated with recruitment of phosphoinositide 3-kinase and activation of downstream signaling. Detection of phosphorylation at this residue provides a site-specific measure of KIT signaling that is distinct from total receptor abundance. A Phospho-c-Kit Polyclonal Antibody can therefore complement total KIT measurements when investigating receptor activation and phosphorylation-dependent signaling.
KIT signaling has important roles in hematopoietic progenitor cells, mast cells, melanocytes and germ cells. Dysregulated KIT activity is also extensively investigated in cancer biology, particularly in gastrointestinal stromal tumors and other malignancies involving altered KIT expression or activating mutations. Site-specific phospho detection provides an additional approach for examining the molecular regulation of this receptor.
NSJ Bioreagents offers this phospho-specific reagent for research into KIT phosphorylation and stem cell factor receptor signaling. The Phospho-CD117 pY719 Antibody terminology identifies the targeted phosphorylation site using the widely recognized CD117 designation, while Phospho-c-Kit Polyclonal Antibody provides an alternative name incorporating antibody clonality.
A Phospho-CD117 pY719 Antibody provides a phosphorylation-specific reagent for investigating KIT phosphorylation at Tyr719, while a Phospho-c-Kit Polyclonal Antibody supports research into c-Kit regulation and signaling.
