PDLIM2 Antibody by WB in rat and mouse testis. Western blot analysis using PDZ and LIM domain protein 2 Antibody detects an immunoreactive band near 37 kDa in rat testis (lane 1) and mouse testis (lane 2), consistent with the calculated PDLIM2 molecular weight of approximately 37.7 kDa. Reduced tissue lysates containing 30 ug protein per lane were separated by 10% SDS-PAGE and transferred to nitrocellulose. Membranes were blocked with 5% non-fat milk and incubated with primary antibody at 0.5 ug/mL overnight at 4oC. Detection used an HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary antibody and chemiluminescent substrate. The principal target-associated band is visible in both species.

Description

PDLIM2 Antibody / PDZ and LIM domain protein 2 Antibody detects PDLIM2, a protein containing PDZ and LIM domains, structural modules that mediate interactions with other proteins. PDZ domains commonly participate in organizing multiprotein assemblies, while LIM domains can support additional protein-binding interactions. PDLIM2 has been linked to the actin cytoskeleton and to mechanisms that regulate transcription-factor activity. Its combination of interaction domains allows it to connect structural organization with intracellular signaling. This dual role distinguishes PDLIM2 from proteins that function solely as static cytoskeletal components.

PDLIM2 has been implicated in the regulation of inflammatory transcription factors, including NF-kappaB family members. Experimental studies have described roles in promoting the termination of selected transcriptional responses, in part through effects on nuclear protein stability and turnover. The precise mechanism and biological consequences depend on cellular context. PDLIM2 also interacts with cytoskeletal-associated proteins, connecting its signaling functions to cell architecture and adhesion. These relationships suggest that its activity can influence how cells integrate mechanical organization with changes in gene expression.

Altered PDLIM2 expression has been investigated in immune regulation and cancer-related signaling, although its effects are not uniform across tissues or disease models. A decrease in negative regulation of transcriptional pathways may permit prolonged signaling in some contexts, while other systems reveal additional roles for PDLIM2. The PDZ and LIM domain protein 2 Antibody designation identifies this particular family member and differentiates it from PDLIM1 and other related proteins. NSJ Bioreagents offers the PDLIM2 Antibody for a target linking cytoskeletal organization with transcriptional control. A PDLIM2 Antibody is relevant to understanding the molecular functions and regulatory pathways associated with PDLIM2.
