PDGFRA Antibody SH-SY5Y WB. Western blot analysis of human SH-SY5Y cell lysate using PDGFRA Antibody / Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha Antibody demonstrates a strong immunoreactive band at approximately 180 kDa, consistent with expression of mature PDGFRA protein. PDGFRA is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signaling from platelet-derived growth factors and regulates cellular proliferation, survival, migration, differentiation, and developmental processes. The observed molecular weight is higher than the predicted core protein size due to extensive glycosylation and other post-translational modifications that are characteristic of the mature receptor. The detected band is consistent with endogenous PDGFRA expression in human SH-SY5Y cells. Expected molecular weight: 120-195 kDa.
PDGFRA Antibody Human Mouse Rat WB. Western blot analysis of human Caco-2 (lane 1) and SH-SY5Y (lane 2) cell lysates, as well as rat ovary (lane 3), rat brain (lane 4), mouse ovary (lane 5), and mouse brain (lane 6) tissue lysates using PDGFRA Antibody / Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Alpha Antibody demonstrates strong immunoreactive bands at approximately 180 kDa. PDGFRA is a receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signaling from platelet-derived growth factors and regulates cellular proliferation, survival, migration, and developmental processes in mesenchymal and stromal cell populations. The observed molecular weight exceeds the predicted size of approximately 123 kDa, a finding consistent with extensive glycosylation and other post-translational modifications known to affect electrophoretic mobility of mature PDGFRA protein. The detected bands support expression of PDGFRA across human, rat, and mouse samples. Predicted molecular weight: approximately 123 kDa. Observed molecular weight: approximately 180 kDa.

Description

The PDGFRA gene encodes a cell surface tyrosine kinase receptor for members of the platelet-derived growth factor family. These growth factors are mitogens for cells of mesenchymal origin. The identity of the growth factor bound to a receptor monomer determines whether the functional receptor is a homodimer or a heterodimer, composed of both platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha and beta polypeptides. Studies suggest that this gene plays a role in organ development, wound healing, and tumor progression. Mutations in this gene have been associated with idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome, somatic and familial gastrointestinal stromal tumors, and a variety of other cancers. [RefSeq]
