PDGFR Alpha Antibody IF. Immunofluorescent staining of FFPE human Caco-2 cells using PDGFR Alpha Antibody / Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Antibody demonstrates prominent membranous and cytoplasmic red fluorescence consistent with expression of PDGFRA. The staining pattern highlights cell borders and associated intracellular compartments, reflecting the localization of this cell-surface receptor tyrosine kinase. PDGFRA mediates platelet-derived growth factor signaling and regulates cellular proliferation, migration, differentiation, and survival through activation of downstream signaling pathways. Nuclei are counterstained with DAPI (blue). HIER was performed by steaming sections in pH 6 citrate buffer for 20 minutes prior to immunofluorescent staining. Red = PDGFR Alpha antibody; Blue = DAPI nuclear stain.
PDGFR Alpha Antibody Human Mouse Rat Brain WB. Western blot analysis of human 293T (lane 1), human U-251 (lane 2), rat brain (lane 3), rat C6 (lane 4), mouse brain (lane 5), and mouse NIH 3T3 (lane 6) lysates using PDGFR Alpha Antibody / Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Antibody demonstrates strong immunoreactive bands at approximately 180 kDa. PDGFRA is a cell-surface receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates platelet-derived growth factor signaling and regulates cellular proliferation, migration, differentiation, and survival. The observed molecular weight is consistent with mature glycosylated PDGFRA protein, which commonly migrates at substantially higher molecular weights than its predicted core protein size due to extensive post-translational glycosylation. The broad reactivity observed across human, rat, and mouse samples supports conserved expression of PDGFRA in neural and mesenchymal cell populations. Expected molecular weight: 120-195 kDa depending on glycosylation level.

Description

PDGFR Alpha Antibody / Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Antibody detects platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRA), a cell-surface receptor tyrosine kinase that mediates signaling by platelet-derived growth factors and regulates cellular proliferation, migration, differentiation, and survival. PDGFRA plays essential roles during embryonic development and adult tissue maintenance by controlling communication between stromal, mesenchymal, and progenitor cell populations. PDGFR Alpha Antibody is widely used for studies of growth factor signaling, developmental biology, tissue remodeling, and receptor tyrosine kinase function.

Upon binding platelet-derived growth factor ligands, PDGFRA undergoes receptor dimerization and activation of intracellular kinase activity, initiating signaling cascades that regulate gene expression, cytoskeletal organization, and cellular behavior. These pathways influence tissue morphogenesis, cellular migration, and proliferation during development and contribute to maintenance of normal tissue architecture in adult organisms. PDGFRA signaling is particularly important in mesenchymal cell populations where it coordinates responses to extracellular growth factor stimulation.

PDGFRA is expressed in a variety of tissues and cell types including fibroblasts, stromal cells, connective tissue progenitors, neural crest-derived populations, and selected epithelial-associated compartments. The receptor contributes to organ development, connective tissue formation, vascular support functions, and regulation of cellular interactions within the tissue microenvironment. Because of its broad biological importance, PDGFRA serves as a valuable marker for studies of mesenchymal biology and growth factor-dependent cellular regulation.

Altered PDGFRA activity has been implicated in developmental disorders, fibrotic disease, regenerative responses, and cancer. Dysregulated PDGFRA signaling may contribute to abnormal cellular proliferation, enhanced migratory behavior, and remodeling of the extracellular environment. Consequently, PDGFRA is frequently investigated in studies examining disease-associated signaling pathways, stromal biology, and mechanisms of tissue repair and remodeling.

Beyond developmental and disease-related processes, PDGFRA has emerged as an important marker in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. Its expression is often associated with progenitor cell populations that participate in tissue maintenance, wound healing, and cellular differentiation. Researchers frequently utilize PDGFR Alpha Antibody to investigate signaling networks that regulate tissue homeostasis and cellular plasticity.

PDGFR Alpha Antibody / Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Antibody is useful for researchers studying growth factor signaling, mesenchymal development, stromal biology, stem cell regulation, tissue remodeling, developmental biology, cancer progression, and receptor tyrosine kinase pathways. Validation may include immunohistochemistry, western blotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and related protein expression applications when supported by experimental data.
