Description

The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha subunit of the heterodimeric mitochondrial enzyme Propionyl-CoA carboxylase. PCCA encodes the biotin-binding region of this enzyme. Mutations in either PCCA or PCCB (encoding the beta subunit) lead to an enzyme deficiency resulting in propionic acidemia. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the PCCA antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

An E.coli-derived human recombinant protein (amino acids E403-E728) was used as the immunogen for the PCCA antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the PCCA antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
