PAX2 Antibody PAX2/1104 is a mouse monoclonal that recognizes PAX2, a nuclear transcription factor belonging to the paired box family of developmental regulatory proteins. PAX2 contains a conserved paired DNA-binding domain and regulates genes involved in embryonic development, cellular differentiation, and organogenesis. Its expression is particularly important during development of the kidney and urogenital tract, with additional roles in development of selected structures of the nervous system, eye, and ear. The tightly regulated expression of PAX2 reflects its importance in establishing and maintaining specific developmental cell lineages.
PAX2 plays a central role in renal development, including specification of the nephric lineage and formation of structures that contribute to the developing kidney. Expression is prominent in embryonic renal tissues and becomes substantially restricted in most mature kidney structures. Alterations affecting PAX2 expression or function can interfere with normal renal and ocular development. A PAX2 Antibody can therefore support investigations of kidney organogenesis, renal cell differentiation, developmental transcription programs, and urogenital biology.
PAX2 expression is also studied extensively in cancer biology. Persistent or reactivated PAX2 expression occurs in several tumor types, particularly malignancies associated with renal and Müllerian lineages. Its lineage-associated expression has made PAX2 relevant to research involving renal cell carcinoma and selected ovarian and endometrial tumors. PAX2 may also participate in transcriptional programs affecting tumor cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation. Clone PAX2/1104 provides a mouse monoclonal reagent for investigating PAX2 expression in developmental and cancer research.
Clone PAX2/1104 has been evaluated by human protein microarray analysis to assess recognition of PAX2 relative to a broad panel of human proteins. This proteome-wide screening provides an additional measure of target specificity that complements application-specific validation. The clone also has documented use in published research. NSJ Bioreagents offers PAX2/1104 for research into developmental transcription, renal biology, and cancer. This PAX2 Antibody clone provides a Protein Microarray Validated mouse monoclonal reagent for investigating PAX2 expression and Paired Box 2-associated biology.
For additional information on PAX2 biology and available antibodies, see our PAX2 Antibody / Paired Box 2 Antibody page.
Optimal dilution of the PAX2 Antibody PAX2/1104 should be determined by the researcher.
A portion of amino acids 223-354 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this PAX2 antibody.
Store the PAX2 antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
