Ovarian tumor associated antigen MOv18 antibody targets Folate receptor alpha, a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell surface protein that mediates high-affinity binding and internalization of folate. Folate receptor alpha is encoded by the FOLR1 gene and plays an important role in cellular folate uptake, supporting nucleotide synthesis, DNA repair, and one-carbon metabolism.
