Mucin 1, cell surface associated (MUC1) or polymorphic epithelial mucin (PEM) is a protein encoded by the MUC1 gene in humans. Mucins are O-glycosylated proteins that play an essential role in forming protective mucous barriers on epithelial surfaces. Mucin-1 is a transmembrane protein normally expressed on the apical borders of secretory epithelial cells. It serves a protective function by binding to pathogens and also functions in a cell signaling capacity.
Titration of the Mucin 1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Mouse partial recombinant protein (AA 474-630) was used as the immunogen for this Mucin 1 antibody.
Thy lyophilized Mucin 1 antibody can be stored at 4oC. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
