Description

Metal regulatory transcription factor 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MTF1 gene. This gene encodes a transcription factor that induces expression of metallothioneins and other genes involved in metal homeostasis in response to heavy metals such as cadmium, zinc, copper, and silver. The protein is a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein that accumulates in the nucleus upon heavy metal exposure and binds to promoters containing a metal-responsive element (MRE).

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the MTF1 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

An E.coli-derived human recombinant protein (amino acids Y44-K753) was used as the immunogen for the MTF1 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the MTF1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
